Italy has temporarily halted visa processing in South Africa due to scheduled upgrades to its consular visa system. During this maintenance period, no new visa applications will be accepted through VFS Global centres.
The suspension affects application centres in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Polokwane, Bloemfontein and Gaborone. Services are expected to resume once the system upgrade is complete.
Travellers planning upcoming trips to Italy are advised to monitor official consular updates and allow extra time for processing once applications reopen.
